A side-hustle since 2010

Forest Collectibles is an online e-commerce store, selling collectible items and popular products. Through social media research and search engine trend data, I discover future demand and monitor activity with tools such as Terapeak Research. This lets me forecast purchasing and selling points, market competition with other stores, and historical sales and prices.

In 2010, this started off as a simple place for me to sell items I had no interest in keeping anymore like shoes, clothing, and games. Over the years, these items turned into limited edition collectibles, extremely sought after sneakers, high demand electronics that mostly were sold out in-stores. When getting chump-change for old items turned into profits with popular products, I began putting more effort into learning what it took to maximize my return on investments. Slowly but surely, I taught myself how to use marketing and research tools to make profit projections with low-risk investments. This became a great side income as I prioritize majority of my time in education.

With the sudden spike in online-shopping, especially driven by Covid-19, Forest Collectibles has been doing all-time numbers, which just over $33,000 in sales as of September in 2020 alone. Not only has this taught me how to utilize online data for research, but also how to work with customers and higher management, fix and acclimate consumer issues, professionally tackle cases with fraud or potential scams, and understand the physical power it takes to handle inventory and shipping packages.
